An invitation from Atelier du Palais, a risography printing workshop based in Arles, to take over the walls of a third-party venue for the duration of the Rencontres de Arles.

The venue, renamed “Fichez nous la paix” for the summer, hosted exhibitions, concerts, a bar and workshops organized by Atelier du Palais, itself relocated for the occasion. Léo Aupetit took over the bar area, and I was given two walls of the main hall. We agreed on the theme of aquatic life.

The pieces produced for the occasion are plaster forms inspired by coral, seaweed and crustaceans. The final fresco is an enlarged version of the painted plaster objects and drawn boxes of aquarium views.

At the same time, we ran a workshop with Louise Mutrel on flying objects printed in risography, entitled “Courant d'air”. We asked several artists to produce visuals that could be printed on the kite templates proposed. The ensemble was exhibited over a weekend, at the whim of the Arles wind.
